Alaska Wild Slideshow

Alaska has been on my conscience for years, even before my first trip to Gates of the Arctic and Denali National Parks in 2000. After this and three other visits prior to moving here, I would return home with a overwhelming sense of mystery in trying to understand what I experienced. Yet even after one year of residence in Alaska, it continues to inspire awe. However, the mystery remains; words or images will never fully capture the immensity or depth of spirit of this great land. So, in vain, I offer this photo montage of Alaska. Tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year, the images and impressions will be different, but the reverence will continue to mature and expand.
This video file can only be viewed with Quicktime (see link on Slide Show page). It is large (26.9 MB) and long (seven and one-half minutes) for a reason. I think you will see why. It will load as it plays, however, for those of you with a short-attention span, or a slow internet connection, take a break from the computer, make a cup of coffee, do whatever it takes to download a bit of Alaska into your life. You won’t regret it.
