Digital Photography Simplified Workshop

This 7-hour seminar teaches you how to creatively use your digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) through classroom instruction and hands-on exercises. Designed for the beginning photographer, the course also covers the basic concepts of digital photography. Emphasis is on getting away from programmed and automatic modes and learning how to control your camera in shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual modes. If you have ever struggled with the endless (and complicated) screens, dials, and buttons on modern cameras and wanted it simplified into the essentials, then this course is for you.

Participants are required to bring a DSLR (no point-and-shoots, please) with two memory cards, two charged batteries, owner's manual, and a colorful object to photograph (small doll, toy, flowers, memento, etc.). You may also want to bring a laptop to take notes or a pad of paper. Depending on the weather, some exercises may be held outside, so dress appropriately.
